Votive Music

By the above, I mean that when listening to these, I treat it as a spiritual experience: Prokofiev’s Sonate nr. 1 op. 80 (andante — Oistrakh), Tallis “Spem in Alium,” Glass, “Knee Play Five” (from Einstein on the Beach) cannot be listened to with any light but candles, and in complete silence otherwise. There are others that come very close, but these are occasions for meditation.
