The history of Christianity fascinates me
St. Augustine and Paul
It’s a wonder —
a God become a man
a figure become someone a Dante
A Raphael, a man who could move mountains.
Yet a man, just one of us.
The Christ, just a man.
Yet the savior of mankind,
The redeemer of us all.
Yet do you believe it?
I don’t, for I believe God
Is greater than a mere human.
It could be, I suppose,
But I doubt it.
