Message to Anti-Government Zealots/Conspiracy Theorists
There’s a reason regulations exist. It’s to prevent horrific tragedies like this in Bangladesh and what happened in West, TX USA. They exist because of atrocities like the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire 102 years ago, which led to many of the workplace regulations we have today. Regulation is not an attempt to “take away our freedom” or whatever nonsense people want to spill out; they exist to keep people safe. This is what happens when those regulations either don’t exist or are not taken seriously. Yes, they put an added burden on business owners; but business owners *must* be forced to take responsibility that their workers work in a safe environment. Anything else is unacceptable.
